Cocoa – How much is too much?

The answer to that question is… well, I don’t know. Not yet.

I had to run out to the drugstore tonight because I needed NyQuil, and on the way to the cash register I passed the chocolate aisle. Ok, there isn’t really a chocolate AISLE, per se… alright, sue me! It was an end cap!

It distracted me with the little yellow flags hanging off of every chocolate-y bag… Buy One, Get One 50% Off! So, I bought two, one bag of 60% Cocoa, Dark Chocolate Shell Truffles and one bag of 70% Cocoa, Dark Chocolate Shell Truffles. According to the bags, and I have to agree, they are “irresistibly smooth.”

So, a survey is being taken around the Parrish house. Which is better? 60% or 70%? My son and I are big dark chocolate fans, and we are in TEAM 70%! The rest of the family is in the “to be determined” camp.

But so far, the darker, the better.
