Paris Olympics, COVID, Hurricanes… trending now

Well, it’s Thursday. I tested positive for COVID on Tuesday, but I felt bad on Monday. Three miserable days, but we all know the drill, so I won’t bore you with my details. The only difference of this one (my third go with it) is that I passed out in the bathroom last night when I was heading back to bed after washing my hands. That was something. Never did THAT before. Thanks COVID, for the new experience!

Meanwhile, Hurricane Debby is making her presence very known today. We are under a Flood (let me check…) sorry, FLASH FLOOD WARNING for most of the day. Apparently, it is a dangerous and life threatening situation. I believe them. I don’t plan on going anywhere, and I very much hope other people believe them, too and heed the warnings!

I’m super glad the the Olympics are still on. It has given me lots to view. What I love most about the Olympics is watching sports I don’t normally get to watch. I have particularly enjoyed Field Hockey this go around and skateboarding and climbing. I tried to watch the BMX biking, but it was too anxiety inducing, so I gave that a pass. I’m also very interested in checking out the Breaking, to see how that’s going to work.

So, while I expected today, this very unassuming Thursday in August to be very different… Open House for my daughter’s first year of High School, a regular day of work, and normal family “stuff,” here I am recovering from almost passing out from COVID, in the middle of a hurricane, watching Olympic beach volleyball, and wondering if I’ll be well enough to go to the Open House tomorrow (probably not).

Life is weird… all of the topics of my day seem to be trending now on the internet. Huh.

Also, for my few faithful readers, I’ll try to get back to being a little more consistent. I really want to, life just gets in the way sometimes, doesn’t it?
