We have choices to make, too…

It’s been a week, hasn’t it?

Whatever side of the ballot you were on, there were SO many feels.

So, now our job as citizens of our country continue, just like they did last Monday, before Election Day. But we have choices to make. Will we continue to live in a divided nation? Will we continue to allow things that have become the norm, continue? Will we live in a constant state of… “what comes next worry?”

My choice is to be hopeful. The word hope in Greek is elpis and it means “the expectation of what is sure or certain.” It is an expectant anticipation, which to me, sounds like the best part of Christmas, or that feeling when you know you’re going on an amazing trip, or embarking on a new promising adventure.

Those choices seem better than doomscrolling constantly, reading scary headlines, or constantly fretting over what might not ever happen.

I’m not living in denial. I might be trying to vacation there for awhile, but I know I can’t stay.

Hope for tomorrow

There are things coming that will definitely NOT be according to plan. There will be massive potholes in the road. But let’s face it, there always are. And my CHOICE is to have HOPE for tomorrow, to deal with the problems as they come at me, and be optimistic about what COULD be.

I may be singing a completely different tune next year (a whole different musical style, even), but for now, I’m making the choice to be as positive as I can be, and deal with what comes at me; things that I care about or things that affect me and my family, and try to handle everything else with the grace that’s also been given to me.

So now, I move forward with ELPIS for tomorrow. I do hope you will join me, and if we all spread some kindness, positivity, joy and LOVE, maybe we can make the world a good place to be.

Peace, love, and puppies
